About
Honorable Wala Blegay, Esq. is a fighter for working families, federal workers, and small businesses and she’s running for Congress because Maryland deserves leadership that will stand up, push back, and deliver results. For more than twenty years, Wala has called Maryland home. She is an attorney, a County Council member, and a proven advocate who has spent her career fighting for people who too often get left behind—workers, families, seniors, and small businesses trying to survive in an increasingly expensive economy. Wala comes from a family of fighters. Her parents immigrated from West Africa and dedicated their lives to advocating for refugees, immigrants, and families who needed a voice. That commitment to service shaped Wala’s life and career and she has never put that baton down. As an attorney, Wala fought for nurses, advocating for safe staffing, fair working conditions, and patient protections. As a lawyer in Prince George’s County, she worked directly with families, small businesses, and community members to navigate complex systems that too often work against them. As a member of the Prince George’s County Council Wala has delivered results. She created the ER Wait Time Task Force to demand accountability in our healthcare system, championed Food as Medicine to improve access to nutritious food, fought predatory business practices, and pushed for responsible development that strengthens communities instead of displacing them. Now, Wala is running for Congress because too many decisions in Washington are hurting Maryland families especially federal workers and contractors who are the backbone of our regional economy. When communities are under attack, Wala doesn’t stay silent. She fights back.

About
If you know Peggy Morris, then you know her true love and passion for Sisterhood. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Peggy received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morgan State University. Her professional career spans over 30 years in the telecommunications industry, 8 years in the non-profit arena, and 8 years in county government. In 2015, Peggy retired from the Prince George’s County Government in the Office of Community Relations. Peggy grew up with five sisters and their parents always encouraged them that no matter what, they stick together and today, that sisterly bond is perpetuated through Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. (S4SN). As Founder and President of S4SN, Peggy, along with her cousin, Audrey Dickson, and two friends, Sharon J. Bullock and Dee Adams, saw a need to create a platform to allow like-minded women to come together to exchange information, resources, and contacts to encourage each other to follow their dreams. Peggy wanted to create an environment where women could come together to “toot” their own horns in celebration. So, in 2002, the four founding members organized Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc., a unique networking organization dedicated to helping women build lasting relationships through the art of networking. Peggy realized her calling and with the support of the members, they have touched thousands of women within Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Today, 24 years later, Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. continues to grow to connect women locally and nationally to promote collaboration and partnering through networking. S4SN’s mission is to not only empower members, but to keep them informed and engaged with those issues that plague their communities. The organization’s focus is domestic violence, health and wellness, education and mentoring, and entrepreneurship. Peggy has received many community service awards for her true commitment in helping to make a difference in her community. Her most recent recognitions are the President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award 2024, the Creating Ambassadors of Peace Award 2024, The Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award 2025, and the Bi-County Business Roundtable Leadership Award 2026. She will tell you that she lives by the words of Mahatma Gandhi – “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Peggy’s continuous efforts, dedication to family, and commitment to her community are the true meaning of Leaving a Legacy!
